Map ESR Project 6

Objectives

  • Develop an expertise in the spectroscopy of organic and hybrid TE materials to determine structural, electronic and thermal properties
  • Determination of thermoelectric and structural properties of samples with different microstructure, doping and degree of orientation
  • Evaluation of stability in OTE systems
  • Investigation of the sensing capabilities of TE materials using spectroscopic techniques.

Expected results

  • Fabrication of samples with gradients in thermal annealing and doping level for combinatorial assessment of TE properties enabling the correlation between electrical and thermal transport in organics
  • Characterization of anisotropic properties of oriented samples, including free standing films later used for sensing applications
  • Determination of protocols to assess stability in OTEG.materials

Skills acquired

  • Fabrication of OTE samples
  • microRaman
  • FTIR
  • Hall measurements
  • Electrical conductivity
  • Raman thermometry
  • Frequency domain thermoreflectance
