Training & events

With our dedicated training programs and events, we make the PhD students of the HORATES network the thermoelectric research elite of tomorrow.

Training Activities

Our ESRs have access to a series of short introductory lessons, providing basic knowledge on organic thermoelectrics and related topics, facilitating the access to the highly interdisciplinary research topics of HORATES.

7 Dec 2021 (15:30-16:15)

  • Michael Sommer on “Synthesis of conjugated polymers for organic electronics”

11 Jan 2022 (15:30-16:30)

  • Martin Brinkmann on “Investigating the structure and morphology in polymer semiconductors by transmission electron microscopy”

12 Jan 2022 (9:30-11:30)

  • Igor Zozoulenko on “Conducting polymers for thermoelectric applications: electronic, transport and thermoelectric properties”

8 Feb 2022 (15:30-17:00)

  • Riccardo Rurali on “Fundamentals of heat transport, basic ideas, different transport regimes, role of interfaces (boundary resistance, nanowires, etc)”
