ESR project:

Investigating the electronic structure and figures of merit of novel thermoelectric materials

Background

Federico Ferrari obtained a B.Sc. in Materials Science at the University of Padova, Italy and a M.Sc. in Bioengineering at KAUST, Saudi Arabia. For his M.Sc. module on directed research in the Organic Bioelectronics Lab he designed and developed an experimental setup to perform electrochromic moving front measurements (supervisor: Prof. Sahika Inal). He also was a visiting student at the KAUST Solar Center and worked with perovskite solar cells as well as organic semiconductor Schottky diodes based on nanogap electrodes (supervisors: Prof. Thomas Anthopoulos, Prof. Iain McCulloch).

Current research

Federico is currently part of the HORATES network investigating the electronic structure and figures of merit of novel thermoelectric materials under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jan Anton Koster at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials (University of Groningen, The Netherlands).
